Robert is a superb and consistently funny and inventive comedian. From his first flushes of comic promise in new-act competitions he has moved on to build greater success and now, as a sought after performer, has an award winning original comic gift that has been seen in many clubs across the country. His material derives from his abstract perspective with wordy and sometimes cruel humour, spontaneous musicality, obscure performance pieces and semi-improvised abstract off-shoots.
Dana draws her material from raw life experience with an original and hilarious outlook. She began her comedy career at the age of 18 years old in Canada. In 2011 Dana moved to the UK where she premiered her solo hour at The Edinburgh Festival for which she received rave reviews and nominations including "Best Comic" and "Best International Act" from Chortle and Black Comedy Awards.
Will has been performing comedy since 2009 and since then has cemented himself as a dynamic and interesting performer in comedy clubs around the country. He mixes stories and gags with a cheerfully cynical view of the world.
Zahra is Irish/Egyptian, a combination which makes stand-up comedy an almost unavoidable career choice. She hit the stand up scene in February 2011 and has since been a 2013 'Bath New Act of The Year' Finalist, a 'Funny Woman' (in association with Company Magazine) Finalist, 'Laughing Horse New Act' at Brighton Fringe Finalist and 'Comedy Cafe New Act 2012' finalist.
Compere: Gareth Kane
Gareth has been the resident compere for most of The Funny Side's gigs since 2011 and is one of the most experienced hosts on the comedy circuit. He is also an accomplished actor and writer/performer with sketch group Harvey Garvey & the Kane who recently garnered 5 star reviews at the Edinburgh festival. Also a physical trainer and boxer, at 6'4" Gareth Kane is a man big on physique and big on talent.
