Meryl O'Rourke
Meryl has been working the UK, Irish, New York and Barcelona comedy circuits for 10 years; thrilling, delighting and disturbing people on the subjects of
rice, shopping, breasts and dead TV chefs. A born and bred South Londoner, she has been described as having a brave confessional style.
She is also an accomplished broadcaster having completed her comedy series "The Hysterical Method Of Conception" for Radio 4.
This self-written self-performed serial appeared as part of the Woman's Hour strand. Tony Blair is a fan as is an old lady from Cheltenham who is praying for her.
Previously Meryl has been nominated for a prestigious Sony Radio Academy Award 2003 (along with Johnny Vegas, Jonathan Ross and Mark Lamarr).
She was nominated for Best Breakfast Show (against Terry Wogan) and, being the only woman in her category, then and since,... she reckons she is STILL officially the best female breakfast radio presenter in the country!
