Acts @ The Funny Side :
Hils Barker
Hils started writing and performing sketch comedy while still a student, and continued this in the seedy bars of the real world soon afterwards.
At one of these gigs, a friend and fellow comedian wandered up to her like a fixer in a betting shop and said, "You should try stand-up", so she did.
An exciting and thought-provoking stand-up with a satirical and very silly edge, in 2006 Hils appeared in BBC3's sketch show, 'The Message', which she co-wrote.
She was also a finalist in two major stand-up newcomer competitions; Channel 4's 'So You Think You're Funny?' (2001)
and Avalon's Daily Telegraph 'Open Mic' Award (2002).
